Privacy overview
FreePDFHelp uses browser-local processing where practical and temporary server processing where stronger PDF tooling is needed.
Browser-local tools
Merge PDF, Split PDF, Rotate PDF, Delete PDF pages, and JPG to PDF are processed on your device. Input previews for selected files are generated locally in your browser and are not uploaded for preview.
Server-processed tools
Compress PDF, PDF to JPG, and Remove PDF metadata upload a file for temporary processing. These tools need server-side PDF libraries or rendering controls to produce reliable verified output.
Preview behavior
Input previews are generated locally whenever possible. Preview images, filenames, and document text are not sent to analytics. Large documents may show a limited preview while still allowing processing.
Retention and deletion
Server-side job files are retained for the configured short window, currently 60 minutes by default. Successful jobs offer a delete-now control. Cleanup may retry if a file is temporarily locked or a worker restarts.
Logs, analytics, advertising, and cookies
Operational logs avoid document contents, extracted text, filenames, signed URLs, ownership tokens, and download tokens. Analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking, and consent records are prepared in configuration but disabled unless explicitly enabled and consented where required. Advertising is not currently enabled.
